Rockwall-Heath High School student Jamal Moore has won first place in his division of the 2026 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest from the National Association for Pupil Transportation.

Congratulations to 5th grade teacher, Amber Hernandez, for being named a Milestone Electric Power a Classroom Teacher! Mrs. Hernandez was previously a pre-kindergarten teacher at Rochell but moved up to 5th grade science teacher last year. After STAAR results were released last week it was announced Rochell was recognized for Academic Acheivment in 5th grade Science!

Congratulations to Rochell Art Teacher, Elizabeth Churchill, for being name a Milestone Electric Power a Classroom Winner! Ms. Churchill goes above and beyond for the students at Rochell and making sure they have multiple opportunities to participate in meaningful and beautiful art projects. 

Rochell students, staff and families were all smiles welcoming in a new school year. We even had some Heath Hawks on campus to help us kick off the day.

Rockwall ISD is celebrating an A-rating following the release of the 2026 district accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency.

TAFE students in the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy earned three national championships at the Educators Rising national conference held in June.

GBCCA student Kennedy J. wins second place in Baking & Pastry at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.

After a successful showcase at the state level, students in the Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy fashion design program will represent Texas for the first time in school history at the Technology Student Association (TSA) national competition in June.
