Rochell 5th Grade Teachers (Mrs. Chavez, Mrs. Hernandez and Mrs. Limerick) recently organized a Career Day for their students.

3rd grade recently began a reading unit on Mystery books. 3rd grade ELAR teacher, Mrs. Weatherford, turned her classroom into a Clue Room. Books in the Mystery genre are fictional stories with a puzzling event or crime that is solved at the end. To introduce the unit Mrs. Weatherford's students became detectives and searched the room for clues.

3rd grade has been learning about and exploring circuits in the library. Recently they used MakeyMakey circuit boards to control computer keys.

Before Spring Break, Rochell students competed campus UIL competitions in Chess, Music Memory, Ready Writing and Number Sense.

4th & 5th graders recently competed in the annual district Battle of the Books competition.

On February 5th, Rochell Elementary celebrated the 100th Day of School. Students in PreK and Kindergarten participated in a procession around the school to commemorate the milestone.

Recently, Rochell staff voted to choose among their colleagues the 2025-2026 Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Year. First Grade Teacher, Catrina Bessard, was voted Teacher of the Year and Christina Daniels was honored with Paraprofessional of the Year.
